Jean Russell talks about "thrivability"

Jean Russell is an interesting, inspiring, and (very) active woman. She's also a bit of a model for me as she succeeds in doing what I'm aspiring to do: create and nurture conversations about change. I interviewed Jean in mid-July we had our own conversation, mostly about "thrivability" and how this connects to the "conscious capital" conversations I've been gathering here.

Getting to know you... even when you're in Chicago and I'm on Vancouver Island
It's one of the wonderful things about social media that I can get to know and talk to people from all over. I can't remember how I "met" Jean, but I know that it's through Twitter that I keep abreast of her various activities. It's also through twitter that she got me involved in a very cool online book project: Thrivability: A Collaborative Sketch.

But, back to Jean: She's worked and collaborated with colleagues in fields ranging from technology (esp social media) to philanthropy, currencies, green/sustainable design, community development, international development, and human rights. She co-founded Nurture.biz and Inspired Legacies as "catalyst organizations," and is now embarked on a project to reframe the sustainability conversation as one about "thrivability."

You can find out more about Jean and thrivability at thrivable.org and thrivable.net. You can follow Jean's thrivability conversation at twitter.com/NurtureGirl.

Thanks for listening!
