Comox Valley tag cloud: July 31, 2010

A friend of mine is developing a cool tool for getting a sense of what people are saying online. Here's a pic of what the keyword "Comox Valley" looks like when the Twitter-sphere is searched for the past week:

No surprise that "Record" shows up so large as the Comox Valley Record, like all the Black papers, is online and posting news items frequently. No surprise either that "beautiful" is one of next highest ranking tags. The Comox Valley really is a beautiful place (and lucky me, I get to call this place home).

Let's look at what a scouring of the blogosphere looks like using this tool...

What does that tell you? Besides the strange "general" word showing up front and centre, I like it that "music" is one of the bigger tags (after expected ones like island, valley, Vancouver, Comox). Not so cool that "unemployment" is so often associated with the Comox Valley though... (but curious, when you consider how large "work" is in the Twitter tag cloud – maybe people are looking for work on Twitter, but talking about unemployment on blog posts?).
